TWSE Outlines 2026 Five Strategies to Advance Taiwan’s AAMC Ambition
Building on the momentum of 2025, the TAIEX has maintained its strong rally, repeatedly setting new records and surpassing the 30,000-point milestone in early 2026. The total market cap of listed companies has exceeded NT$100 trillion, contributing to Taiwan’s rise as the world’s 7th largest equity market as of press time. Entering 2026, the TWSE is set to propel Taiwan’s Asian Asset Management Center (AAMC) roadmap forward, driven by five strategic priorities.
I. Growth: Value Enhancement & Unicorns Incubation
- Power Up Plan 2.0
o Guiding listed firms toward mid-to-long-term value growth;
o Strengthening value-enhancement guidance;
o Enhancing IR services and broadening investor engagement channels;
o Optimizing market-making mechanisms and regulations for quality stocks with low liquidity.
- Unicorn Incubator
o Deepening ties with large-cap corporates, financial groups, and global VCs;
o Collaborating with National Development Council’s Startup Island Taiwan, AAMA and other partners;
o Targeting Southeast Asia, Japan, and Silicon Valley for global outreach.
II. Innovation: Diversified ETF Ecosystem
- New Types of Products: exploring active multi-asset, covered call, and ETF-of-ETFs.
- Cross-Border Collaboration: expanding global footprint and strategic alliances with international exchanges.
- Market Efficiency: developing an automated ETF creation and redemption platform, and enhancing the dual-currency trading mechanism.
III. Resilience: Sustainability and Digital Empowerment
- Introducing ESG Evaluation System and Green Stock Designations;
- In coordination with the Ministry of Environment, supporting the rollout of the pilot platform for TW ETS through TCX;
- Developing a real-time service chatbot to enhance investor experience, while continuing to strengthen system resilience.
IV. AAMC Brand: Global Connectivity
- Positioning the AAMC Promotion Office as a public platform bridging regulators and industry;
- Strengthening connectivity with global financial centers through resource sharing and reciprocal collaboration;
- Expanding the scale of "Taiwan Weeks" events under the FSC’s initiative and leveraging COMPUTEX to broaden international visibility and investor engagement.
V. Secure & Inclusive Market: Anti-Fraud & Inclusion
- Reinforcing anti-fraud joint defenses and public awareness education efforts;
- Launching a revamped Anti-Fraud Joint Defense Section;
- Enhancing “Giving Back to Society by Financial Institutions” to advance financial inclusion and transparency.
With these five strategies, TWSE will amplify policy impact, attract global capital, and catalyze Taiwan’s evolution into the leading asset management center in Asia.
