As of the end of 2017, there are 98 ETFs trading on the TWSE. Based on the tracking benchmarks, the 98 ETFs can be divided into 7 categories – domestic stocks, offshore stocks, leverage/inverse (securities), commodities (including L/I), bonds (including L/I), currencies and VIX. ETFs tracking US government bonds, US dollars index, Japanese Yen index, REITs, soybean and preferred stocks also first rolled out in 2017, providing Taiwan’s investors with multiple asset allocation choices.

The AUM of ETFs on the TWSE has demonstrated an increasing trend since 2013. As of the end of November 2017, there are 98 ETFs listed on the TWSE with total AUM of 304 billion NTD.
- Trading Value
The trading value of TWSE ETFs increased significantly in 2015, following the introduction of the leverage and inverse ETFs. ETF trading value accounted for nearly 9.03% of the total market at the end of 2016. As of the end of November 2017, it accounts for 4.79%.
