The 2025 Sustainable Disclosure Practice Training and Advocacy Meeting Has Successfully Concluded to Lead Enterprises to Improve Sustainable Governance
The Taiwan Stock Exchange, together with the Taipei Exchange, held three sessions of the “Sustainable Disclosure Practice Training and Advocacy Meeting for TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies” in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, which successfully concluded on May 29. This event was a one-and-a-half-day practical study and advocacy conference specifically designed for TWSE/TPEx listed companies, featuring rich and diverse content that attracted company representatives to actively participate. The on-site interaction was enthusiastic, fully demonstrating the high level of attention and active engagement of enterprises in sustainability issues.
In order to assist all TWSE/TPEx listed companies in smoothly preparing and filing the 2024 sustainability report before August 2025, a professional team from Deloitte Risk Management has been specially invited to give lectures in this practical study. In addition to explaining the current regulations regarding the sustainability report, the team proposed practical suggestions on how enterprises can collaborate across departments to address major sustainability issues and gather sustainability information. At the same time, the course referenced benchmark company cases and common deficiencies in the report, combining them with the ESG digital platform’s “Auxiliary Function for Sustainability Reports Production” for an in-depth practical exploration. This approach guided corporate governance supervisors, senior managers, and report writers in grasping the key points of sustainability report preparation, ultimately aiming to improve report quality and operational efficiency.
After the practical study course, a half-day advocacy meeting was arranged for this event, targeting company directors and senior managers. Experts from the industry, government, and academia were specially invited to give keynote speeches. Among them, Chao-En Hsieh, Deputy Manager of the Corporate Governance Department at the Taiwan Stock Exchange, explained the “Sustainable Development Action Plans for TWSE/TPEx Listed Companies” and recent ESG promotion measures. Additionally, CPAs from KPMG Taiwan analyzed how enterprises may use their current sustainability reports and the TCFD framework as a basis, and utilize the resources of the Integration Zone to gradually comply with the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
Besides this, in response to the practical needs of enterprises for carbon management, representatives from the Emissions Reduction and Trading Division of the Climate Change Administration, Ministry of Environment were invited to explain how enterprises can implement greenhouse gas reduction and management in response to international trends and amendments to domestic regulations. Representatives from O-Bank and TECO Corporation were also invited to share the operational practices of their sustainable development committees and provide valuable insights for enterprises in formulating sustainable development goals, strategic policies, and their implementation. Finally, Associate Professor Chia-Wu Lu from National Taipei University introduced Taiwan’s green securities certification system and the plan to guide market capital toward investing in enterprises with sustainable performance in the future by awarding the green securities label to those enterprises.
The Taiwan Stock Exchange is an important link in promoting sustainable development in the domestic capital market. This practice training and advocacy meeting is a key part of its functions, aimed at enhancing communication among all sectors, assisting TWSE/TPEx listed companies in improving their sustainable governance capabilities and information disclosure quality, and strengthening their resilience and competitiveness. The Taiwan Stock Exchange will continue to collaborate with all sectors to promote the sustainable transformation of the Taiwan capital market and its alignment with international sustainability trends.
