Taiwan Weeks Launches This October – Forums and Expos Spotlight Taiwan’s Ambition to Become an Asian Asset Management Center

The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) announced that “Taiwan Weeks” will be held this October, bringing together Taiwan’s securities market institutions along with leaders from industry, government, and academia. The initiative will feature a grand opening ceremony, forums, panel discussions, and expo, all aimed at promoting international exchange and advancing Taiwan’s strategy to become a leading asset management center in Asia.

In a recent media interview, FSC Chairperson Dr. Jin-Lung Peng emphasized that developing Taiwan as an Asian Asset Management Center is one of the Executive Yuan’s most important policy initiatives. Taiwan’s abundant private capital and globally competitive industries provide a strong foundation for this vision. Through Taiwan Weeks, global investors will witness the economic strength and market potential of Taiwan.
Chairperson Peng noted that Taiwan has been actively advancing financial innovation. Recent initiatives include the launch of both active and multi-asset ETFs, as well as the establishment of the “Innovation Board” to attract startups worldwide. In the area of financial inclusion, the “Taiwan Individual Savings Account” launched in June, is helping citizens build long-term wealth and has been met with strong public support.

Cross-border cooperation is also expanding. Taiwan recently deepened collaboration with the Tokyo Stock Exchange through a “Cross- border ETFs” initiative, while the “Asset Management Zone” in Kaohsiung officially opened on July 22. Peng further stressed that talent is the most crucial factor in achieving Taiwan’s asset management ambitions. The FSC is partnering with industry and academia to train senior asset management professionals and encourage Taiwanese talent abroad to return, jointly strengthening Taiwan’s capital market.

2025 Taiwan Weeks will open on October 15 with a grand “Opening Ceremony” and the “Asian Asset Management Center Forum”, which will highlight policy achievements and discuss Taiwan’s progress and challenges on its path toward achieving this goal. Taiwan Weeks will also feature the “Asia Innovation Cup”, designed to connect innovative enterprises with the capital market; the “Taipei Corporate Governance Forum” and the “Emerging Trends in Investor Relations and Engagement: ESG and Sustainable Investing”, which will deepen dialogue on ESG and sustainable investment. Additional sessions include the Forum on “Mobilizing Private sector funds to invest in Public infrastructure” and the “Internationalization of Asset Management”, extending policy initiatives and expanding market capacity. With a strong emphasis on product innovation and diversification, Taiwan Weeks will also host the “Asia Capital Markets Summit Forum” to explore regional market trends, and the “ETF Investment Expo” to strengthen younger generations’ understanding of ETFs.

Chairperson Peng concluded: “Taiwan Weeks” demonstrates our strong commitment to developing Taiwan into an Asian Asset Management Center. We sincerely welcome global investors to invest in Taiwan and create the future together.
