Greenhouse gas inventory workshop series successfully concludes, empowering listed companies to enhance carbon accounting capabilities

To help listed companies align with international sustainability trends and accelerate their readiness for the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), Taipei Exchange (TPEx), Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX), and Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC) jointly held the “2025 Greenhouse Gas Inventory Practical Workshop Series” starting in June. A total of six sessions were held in Taichung, Taipei, Hsinchu, and Kaohsiung, concluding successfully on September 30.

The workshop combined both theoretical and hands-on training, led by professional instructors from the Taiwan Industry Service Foundation and National Taipei University of Technology. Through step-by-step guidance, participants learned to identify emission sources, collect data, and calculate emissions, thereby establishing comprehensive inventory processes and in-house capabilities.

For the first time, the course was divided into two modules — General and Industry-Specific — featuring updates on domestic and international policies, standards, and Scope 3 quantification processes. It also provided in-depth case studies tailored to the characteristics of the semiconductor, electronics, and service industries, making the methodologies more focused and practical.

Participants from listed companies responded enthusiastically, noting that the workshop offered highly practical value, especially the exercises on Scope 3 inventory and industry-specific case analyses. The small-class format and interactive Q&A sessions helped participants significantly deepen their understanding of greenhouse gas inventory practices and apply their learning to internal implementation.

To further expand the program’s impact, TWSE and TPEx will edit the course materials into video clips and upload them to the ESG InfoHub and the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards Portal, allowing all listed companies to access the content anytime and strengthen their understanding of carbon accounting.

TWSE emphasized that greenhouse gas inventory serves as a critical foundation for corporate net-zero transformation. Moving forward, TWSE will continue collaborating with partner institutions to provide diverse training programs, materials, and digital resources to help listed companies enhance both the implementation and disclosure quality of their carbon inventories — collectively advancing the alignment of Taiwan’s capital market with international sustainability standards and strengthening corporate sustainability value.
