Empowering TWSE- and TPEx-listed companies to strengthen their carbon inventory capabilities: greenhouse gas inventory practical workshop concludes successfully

To assist TWSE- and TPEx-listed companies with paid-in capital below NT$5 billion (Phase III) in their first filing of 2025 Individual Company Carbon Inventory Information in 2026, in accordance with the "Sustainable Development Roadmap for TWSE- and TPEx-Listed Companies," the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), along with the Taipei Exchange (TPEx), the Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX), and the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC), jointly held the "Greenhouse Gas Inventory Practical Workshop" on November 3, 2025. To expand its promotional reach, this workshop was held simultaneously in-person and via online live stream for the first time, attracting approximately 2,000 representatives from listed companies on both exchanges and receiving an enthusiastic response.

The training materials of this workshop were diverse and practical. Representatives from Deloitte & Touche (Deloitte Taiwan) provided an explanation of the greenhouse gas inventory and disclosure standards in both the "Sustainable Development Roadmap" and "Taiwan's Adoption of IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards." A lecturer from National Taipei University of Technology also provided an in-depth analysis of the differences between the two international greenhouse gas inventory standards: ISO 14064-1 and the GHG Protocol, and explained the greenhouse gas inventory procedures for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Finally, a professional consultant from the Taiwan Industry Service Foundation, with extensive practical consulting experience, guided representatives from participating companies through hands-on exercises involving Scope 1 and Scope 2 inventory case studies, while introducing freely available inventory databases and tools. The training materials of this workshop were both comprehensive and practical, effectively assisting companies in aligning with international standards and regulatory policies, thereby enhancing their capability to execute and apply carbon inventories.

To maximize the workshop curriculum's impact, the TWSE and TPEx will, after its conclusion, edit it into video files and upload them to relevant websites such as the "ESG InfoHub https://esg.twse.com.tw/ESG/front" and the "Aligning with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards section of https://isds.tpex.org.tw/IFRS/front/#/main/home," making them available for all   listed companies to access at any time. The aim of this effort is to further promote carbon inventory knowledge and help companies enhance their sustainability competitiveness.

In response to increasingly stringent sustainability regulations and disclosure requirements, the TWSE will continue to develop diverse promotional resources to enhance corporate information transparency, collaborating with companies to strengthen the sustainable competitiveness of Taiwan's capital market and advance toward net-zero transition.
