TWSE collaborates with CDP and BCSD Taiwan to release the ‘CDP–IFRS S2 Correspondence and Key Questions Analysis Report’ to support corporate alignment with global sustainability disclosure standards.

To support companies in preparing for climate-related disclosures under the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, the TWSE has collaborated with CDP, the world’s largest environmental disclosure platform, and its Taiwan partner, the BCSD Taiwan, to jointly complete and release the “CDP–IFRS S2 Correspondence and Key Questions Analysis Report.” The report aims to provide companies with practical guidance on sustainability practices and disclosure.

The report analyzes listed companies with capital above a specified threshold that responded to the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire in 2024. It systematically maps CDP questionnaire content against the core disclosure requirements of IFRS S2, covering key pillars including governance, strategy, risk management, as well as metrics and targets. Through this comprehensive review, the report helps companies assess their current situation of preparedness for the future adoption of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and serves as an important reference to enhance the quality of climate-related disclosures.

The report indicates that large-scale capital Taiwanese companies have already established a solid foundation for climate-related information disclosure. Most companies have developed disclosure frameworks and have begun to involve their boards of directors or senior management in overseeing climate-related issues, demonstrating a significant increase in corporate awareness and commitment. Overall, Taiwanese companies are well positioned with a strong starting point to align with international disclosure trends. The report also highlights that, as IFRS S2 places greater emphasis on climate governance, financial impact assessment, scenario analysis, and target setting in addition to performance tracking, companies are encouraged to further strengthen the decision-making role of boards and senior management on climate matters, enhance the quantification of medium- and long-term climate-related risks and opportunities, along with improving comparability through more systematic performance tracking.

As an international tool with a high alignment with IFRS S2, the CDP questionnaire has become a critical bridge for companies to assess their current status and enhance readiness. In recent years, Taiwanese companies’ overall performance in CDP assessments has continued to improve, with the number of companies achieving an A score increasing year by year. This progress reflects corporate efforts in strengthening climate governance, decarbonization strategies, and information transparency. The TWSE noted that through its collaboration with CDP together with BCSD Taiwan, and by continuously providing training coupled with outreach resources, companies have been supported in progressively improving disclosure quality and demonstrating the competitive strengths of Taiwanese companies in international sustainability assessments.

In addition to the release of this analysis report, the TWSE has organized multiple in-person training sessions across northern, central, and southern Taiwan to help companies gain a deeper understanding of the design logic alongside with key question types of the CDP questionnaire, as well as its alignment with the IFRS S2 Standard. Recordings and related course materials are available in the TWSE WebPro Video Platform, enabling companies to access and combined with content through on-demand online learning.

The TWSE emphasized that it will continue to integrate research outputs, training activities, and digital resources to support companies in building a more robust pathway toward alignment with international sustainability disclosure standards, while further strengthening the competitiveness of Taiwan’s capital market amid the global sustainability transition.
