TWSE hosted online seminar on "Green stock designation system" on July 6
To assist listed and TPEx-listed companies in gaining a deeper understanding and mastery of the relevant system framework, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and the Taipei Exchange (TPEx) jointly hosted the "Green Stock Certification System Online Seminar" on July 6, 2026. This seminar had specially invited experts and scholars from National Taipei University to deliver keynote presentations. The sessions focused on Taiwan's Green Stock Designation System framework, the Reference Guidelines for Determining Sustainable Economic Activities, and the application of the EU Taxonomy. Through practical case studies, the seminar analyzed the determination, calculation, and disclosure methods of green revenue, helping enterprises build comprehensive knowledge and practical operational capabilities.
The TWSE stated that in alignment with the Financial Supervisory Commission’s (FSC) "Green and Transition Finance Action Plan" and to encourage enterprises to continuously pursue green transition, the "Green Securities Certification System" officially launched in 2026. The system applies to all Taiwan listed and TPEx-listed companies (financial and insurance industries are excluded). Companies whose disclosed annual green revenue meets the relevant regulations will be awarded either a Level 1 or Level 2 Green Stock Designation. Through this system, capital can be guided into green enterprises, and the certifications can serve as a reference for financial institutions' credit assessments, thereby strengthening the sustainability information disclosure mechanism of the capital market. Furthermore, obtaining a Green Stock Designation will serve as a bonus item in the 2026 ESG Evaluation, delivering positive benefits for enhancing corporate image and building sustainable brand value.
Through this seminar, listed and TPEx-listed companies can review their own revenue and relevant supporting data via practical examples to properly classify their operations into appropriate sustainable economic activities. Companies can also refer to the disclosure formats and templates of the Green Stock Designation to make disclosures in their sustainability reports, preparing in advance for subsequent green securities certification operations. The TWSE cordially welcomed all listed companies to participate in this online seminar.
