Taiwan Stock Exchange launches new Sustainability Development Section on official website to enhance communication with stakeholders
The Taiwan Stock Exchange (the TWSE) continues to respond to international sustainability trends by releasing the 2023 Sustainability Report in both Chinese and English. It has also launched a newly revamped sustainability development section on its official website, designed to present the report’s content in a more engaging and diverse manner, showcasing the TWSE's achievements in sustainability and enhancing communication with stakeholders.
In addition to prioritizing its own environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities, the TWSE has the responsibility to promote ESG development in the securities market. The 2023 Sustainability Report features two main strategic themes: "Sustainable Responsibility" and "Sustainable Market." Internally, the TWSE implements carbon management, information security, and employee training as part of its sustainability commitments. Externally, the TWSE promotes sustainable information disclosure, innovative systems and products, plus international cooperation, thereby exerting a positive influence across various aspects of sustainable development.
To help users quickly focus on important information, the sustainability development section on the TWSE’s official website has undergone a complete redesign (available at https://www.twse.com.tw/CSR/zh/index.html). The homepage highlights key points from the report, using a balance of qualitative and quantitative visuals to provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of the TWSE’s sustainability strategies and annual performance. The interactive webpage and dynamic designs allow users to better appreciate the TWSE’s achievements in green operations, social inclusion, and integrity governance.
The 2023 Sustainability Report covers the TWSE and its subsidiaries, including the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (the TDCC), Taiwan-CA Inc. (the TWCA), Taiwan Index Plus Corporation (TIP), the Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (the TCX), and FundRich Securities Corporation (FundRich). The disclosures follow the 2021 GRI Standards issued by the Global Sustainability Standards Board (the GSSB), the standards for Security & Commodity Exchanges by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the framework of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (the TCFD) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) S2 Climate-related Disclosures. The reports are available on the TWSE’s official website (the Chinese version: https://www.twse.com.tw/CSR/zh/download.html; the English version: https://www.twse.com.tw/CSR/en/download.html).
The TWSE is committed to upholding ESG core values, continuously promoting corporate sustainability, building a robust ESG ecosystem, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance Taiwan's sustainable competitiveness and co-create a sustainable future.
