ESG InfoHub drives changes and achieves excellence! The TWSE wins the silver award of the “PwC Sustainable Influence Award”.

The TWSE participated in the “PwC Sustainable Influence Award” for the first time. With the theme of the “ESG InfoHub Drives Changes and Achieves Excellence,” the TWSE described the influence of ESG InfoHub on ESG information disclosure in Taiwan’s capital market, which guides sustainability funds to invest in companies with excellent ESG performance to achieve a better future, and won the Silver Award of the Social Group at the “8th PwC Sustainable Influence Award in 2024.”

The “PWC Sustainable Influence Award” is jointly organized by PwC Sustainable Development Service Company and the official representative of Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Taiwan. Adhering to the core concept of “making good use of storytelling power to create influence,” it used a 2-minute sustainability project video to communicate sustainability issues through visual influence and respond to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), thereby bringing about changes and expanding attention to sustainability issues.

According to the content of PwC’s press release, the TWSE chose the theme of “ESG InfoHub Drives Changes and Achieves Excellence,” and presented platform quantification and dataization of corporate ESG performance through vivid images to advocate the importance of sustainable investment, enhance market transparency, and make a huge impact on society.

In her award acceptance speech, Hui-Chuan Tu, a TWS Vice President, stated that Taiwan lacked a comprehensive ESG information portal in the past, and in comparison with financial information, the understanding of ESG information by various sectors was relatively low, making it difficult to directly judge ESG performance through data. The ESG InfoHub launched by the TWSE in July 2023 provides users with a more convenient query channel, and greatly improves the efficiency of ESG information utilization.

According to the TWSE’s observation, the ESG InfoHub encourages listed companies to strengthen their ESG sustainability efforts and enhance information disclosure, while it also allows investors to identify companies with excellent ESG performance and guides sustainable capital investment, so as to enable companies to actively develop sustainable strategies and invest in low-carbon transformation, thereby creating a meritorious cycle and enhancing the overall competitiveness of Taiwan’s capital market.

The ESG InfoHub also follows the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals). As an innovative financial infrastructure, ESG InfoHub promotes sustainable industry transformation and ESG information standardization, plus promotes corporate transparency as well as responsible business models along with investment decisions. The website also provides greenhouse gas emission data including related resources to encourage companies to actively reduce carbon emissions and developing climate strategies, to achieve the goal of connecting stakeholders to jointly promote sustainable development and low-carbon transformation.
