2025 GHG inventory practical workshop series kicks off

To support TWSE- and TPEx-listed companies in responding to global sustainability trends and accelerating alignment with the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), together with the Taipei Exchange (TPEx), Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX), and Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (TDCC), has jointly launched the “2024 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory Practical Workshop Series.” Starting from June 24 in Taichung, the workshops will subsequently be held in Taipei, Hsinchu, and Kaohsiung, totaling six sessions designed to offer broad participation opportunities for listed companies.

The workshop curriculum covers a comprehensive range of topics, including global and domestic developments in greenhouse gas (GHG) management, inventory standards and systems, Scope 3 quantification processes, and hands-on practices. Designed to balance theory and practical application, the workshops feature step-by-step guidance from experienced instructors. Participants engage in simulation exercises to identify emission sources, collect data, and calculate emissions. Each session also includes a Q&A segment to enhance learning outcomes and interaction.

This year’s workshops are specially categorized into general and industry-specific sessions. Companies may choose based on their needs. The industry-specific sessions focus on the semiconductor, electronics, and service sectors, offering in-depth analysis of inventory practices. These include industry benchmark case studies, Scope 3 emissions characteristics and quantification methods, and practical exercises, helping companies strengthen their technical capacity and management practices based on sector-specific challenges.

Workshop recordings will be edited and uploaded to the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Alignment Portal and the ESG InfoHub, allowing all listed companies to access the materials. This initiative aims to enhance corporate sustainability competitiveness and accelerate industry-wide progress toward net-zero goals.

The TWSE emphasized that it will continue working with partner organizations to provide diverse learning resources and instructional formats. By helping companies stay ahead of ESG trends and improve disclosure quality, TWSE seeks to jointly foster sustainable value across Taiwan’s capital markets and enterprises.
