TWSE launches GHG inventory workshop for innovation board companies to strengthen ESG management

To strengthen ESG management capabilities among Innovation Board companies and help them respond to international sustainability standards and climate-related risks, the TWSE held a Greenhouse Gas Inventory Workshop on the afternoon of July 14. The event featured expert instructors from the Taiwan Green Productivity Foundation, who provided practical guidance on GHG inventory methodologies and procedures, laying a solid foundation for sustainability disclosures and regulatory compliance.

This marks TWSE’s first ESG training program specifically tailored for Innovation Board companies and received enthusiastic participation. The workshop opened with remarks from a representative of TWSE’s Corporate Governance Department, who outlined the Exchange’s motivation and direction for launching sustainability training for Innovation Board companies. The aim is to support these firms in building robust ESG management structures alongside their business development.

TWSE noted that Innovation Board companies are often from emerging industries, featuring high technological value and growth potential. Notably, green energy and environmental sectors account for 20% of the Innovation Board, reflecting a clear green cluster effect. However, with increasingly stringent sustainability regulations and disclosure standards, these growing enterprises face mounting challenges. To address this, TWSE has launched the Innovation Board ESG Training Series to provide hands-on support services.

The workshop covered three core topics: “Inventory Boundary and Emission Source Identification,” “GHG Quantification and Calculation,” and “Documentation of Inventory Procedures.” The TGPF instructors provided clear and practical explanations along with guided exercises to help participating companies understand the GHG inventory framework and implementation process, ultimately improving data quality and management efficiency. The instructors, with years of experience in government-led net-zero initiatives and corporate sustainability consulting, delivered a well-balanced mix of theory and practical know-how—earning high praise from attendees.

Looking ahead, TWSE will continue to offer diversified ESG training and advisory resources while deepening collaborations with professional institutions. The goal is to support Innovation Board companies in meeting regulatory challenges, enhancing climate resilience and information transparency, and jointly building a globally competitive sustainable capital market.
