TWSE and Daiwa Securities team up to promote Taiwan capital market in Singapore and Malaysia

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE), Daiwa-Cathay Capital Markets (Daiwa Securities) and its business alliance partner Affin Hwang Capital teamed up to hold “Taiwan Corporate Day” in Malaysia and Singapore between September 18 and 20. The campaign was built around "corporate governance", and invited seven outstanding TWSE/TPEx listed companies to share their business prospects with institutional investors in Southeast Asia.

In support of the government's New Southbound Policy, the TWSE has been aggressively promoting the advantages of its capital market. Following the trip to Thailand in August, the TWSE returned to ASEAN countries again. Singapore is a leading asset management hub for institutional investors, while Malaysia is a emerging economy with rapidly growing capital market. Many of Taiwan’s industries meet the principles of Shariah investment that are widely applied in Malaysia. This includes the highly developed electronics sector, which forms a different market cap structure from that in Singapore or Malaysia. Moreover, the recent corporate governance achievements make TWSE listed companies stand out among Asian markets. Heading to Southeast Asia together, the TWSE and Daiwa Securities targeted regional pension funds and large institutional investors and demonstrated the strengths of the Taiwan capital market and its latest developments.

In addition to one-on-one meetings between TWSE listed companies and institutional investors, the TWSE also highlighted the current market reforms in trading rules and corporate governance through a luncheon speech, emphasizing Taiwan's commitment to strengthen market efficiency and transparency.

Institutional investors attending the event showed great interest in recent TWSE policy change and product innovation. Many institutional investors engaged TWSE representatives in discussions about various topics, and provided meaningful market feedback. This indicates the enhanced attention given to our market.

To feature our capital market potential and dynamic synergy, the TWSE will continue to bring roadshows to financial hubs around the world while concurrently explore potential New Southbound Policy markets. The TWSE will also assist our listed companies to build close relationships with long-term investors so as to augment the Taiwan capital market.
