The TWSE cooperated with Masterlink to co-host “Navigating the New Taiwan Landscape” online investment event

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (the “TWSE”) and Masterlink Securities (“Masterlink”) cooperated again from June 16 to 17 to co-host the “Navigating the New Taiwan Landscape” online investment event.

 

Since the epidemic has raised the demand for electronic office equipment, home fitness and ocean freight, noteworthy listed companies from these industries were invited to meet closely with regional investors from Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and more. The event successfully attracted nearly 300 domestic and foreign institutional investors to have 31 online meetings with 20 listed companies. 

 

Although the pandemic shattered global economic activities in 2020, it also proved the importance and resilience of Taiwan manufacturers in the global supply chain. In addition to obtaining a prized positive GDP growth in 2020, Taiwan’s economy grew by 8.16% in the first quarter of 2021, a 10-year record high, and is expected to achieve further expansion in 2021.

 

Ms. Rebecca Chen, TWSE Senior Executive Vice President, stated: "Both the Taiwan economy and capital market outperformed expectations in 2020. The TWSE-listed companies even reported an exceptional total net profit before tax since this year. To intrigue promising companies and capital inflows, as well as providing new investment targets for professional investors, the TWSE will soon launch the Taiwan Innovation Board (“TIB”) in the third quarter this year.”

 

The TWSE’s keynote speech on June 16 elaborated on TIB features, trading mechanisms and investor qualifications. An analyst from Masterlink Research also shared their investment insights in the presentation titled “Sports Industry to Recover Post COVID-19”.
