ESG

The “2022 ESG Summit” ended successfully with the TWSE’s participation

The 2022 ESG Summit hosted by the Accounting Research and Development Foundation was held from June 24 to 25 at Hall I of the World Trade Center. The Summit was attended by more than 80 units, including government agencies, corporate groups, securities-related units, accounting firms, colleges and universities. More than 15 seminars and salons were held during the event; experts and scholars from various fields were invited to share their knowledge and experience. The technology, financial, and manufacturing industries plus various units presented Taiwan's ESG implementation results and the latest sustainability trends in the future, so that the public can see Taiwan's contributions in the implementation of sustainable issues and the integration of ESG into people's daily lives. A total of more than 10,000 people attended the event or participated through the online live broadcast.

In this event, the Taiwan Stock Exchange (the “TWSE”) participated in the Financial Industry Innovation and Sustainability Zone with the theme of “Sustainable Development of the Capital Market” to promote the implementation schedule of the Financial Supervisory Commission's “Sustainable Development Roadmap” and the disclosure of sustainable information, and explained the TWSE's important promotion plan and displayed the corporate sustainable development achievements. Many visitors stopped to read the materials and inquired about the policy promotion content, corporate disclosure information, and sustainability-related indices and products, showing their concern for corporate sustainable development and interest in capital market investment.

The TWSE also held lectures with the theme of “Building an ESG Ecosystem in the Capital Market” at the exhibition booth, explaining the recent measures to promote corporate sustainable development and ESG information disclosure, including revising the relevant regulations to promote corporate sustainable development and adding a "Corporate ESG Information Disclosure" section to MOPS to integrate corporate ESG information for user queries. The TWSE expects to build a complete ESG ecosystem in the capital market by integrating corporate efforts, the competent authorities’ executive power, market investors’ influence and collaborating information disclosure platform, so that companies can pay attention to the value of sustainable management, and take proactive transformation actions. The lecture was supplemented by a Q&A session to interact with the audience, and the participants responded enthusiastically. Through mutual learning and exchanges, an overall social sustainable development culture was shaped, echoing the theme of this ESG Summit.
