The TWSE shared its 2023 priorities with global exchanges at the WFE

The TWSE took the opportunity to share its 2023 priorities with global markets on the Working Committee on the World Federation of Exchanges (“WFE”) in January. In the latest policy agenda, the TWSE applauds the WFE’s continued focus on innovation, sustainability and resilience with the below initiatives.

TWSE’s 2023 priorities

l  Innovation: The benefit of a well-functioning innovation facilitator is evident to all. The TWSE has worked with key intermediaries to substantially augment the listing process and lower the investment threshold of the Taiwan Innovation Board (“TIB”). The TWSE will assist innovative enterprises to raise funds on the public market to further support the development of the cutting edge technologies economy.

l  Sustainability: As sustainability has become a unified value proposition, the TWSE plans to cement a comprehensive ESG ecosystem, which includes establishment of an ESG information disclosure platform, rigorous implementation of ESG evaluations, launch of a full range of ESG products and support listed companies to achieve carbon footprint verification.

l  Resilience: To deal with rising cyber risk and improve financial stability, the TWSE will strengthen cyber security joint safety mechanism and technology through collaborating with institutions of securities industry to enhance the Taiwan capital market resilience in dealing with cyber security incidents.

The TWSE has been playing an active role advocating for outcomes that would deliver open, efficient and resilient capital markets, which are essential to fund sustainable economic growth and provide significant benefits to investors. The TWSE appreciates the opportunity to share its views and welcomes further discussion with all industry players.
