Global Connection

The Taiwan Stock Exchange made its first stop in Singapore to meet with key institutional investors and strength the relationship with Singapore Exchange

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) has made a strong comeback to the global investment community with the first ever overseas roadshow since the pandemic. In its first stop in Singapore, Mr. Chen-Shan Chang, Director General of the Securities and Futures Bureau, and Mr. Sherman Lin, the Chairman of the TWSE, led a delegation of TWSE experts to meet with eight institutional investors, including large funds, asset management companies and insurance companies, with portfolio focusing on the Taiwan market. Meanwhile, the delegation also visited the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and met with CEO, Mr. Loh Boon Chye.

During the meetings with institutional investors, Taiwan's stable economy, strong fundamentals, and high yield rates were empasized to the investors. The TWSE also introduced the latest market developments such as buiding an ESG ecosystem, promoting Taiwan Innovation Board (TIB), and re-shaping of special industry clusters. Another purpose for arranging these one-on-one meetings is to better understand the investors' needs and listen to their suggesteions for the Taiwan capital market. These meetings were warmely received by participating investors.

In addition, the visit to SGX marks the first time Chairman Lin meets with Mr. Loh in person, and is therefore highly valued. Having the two top executives meeting up is expected to have a positive influence on future cooperations between the two exchanges, and further promote the growth of the Asia Pacific market.

Looking ahead, the TWSE will continue to launch overseas roadshows, engage with partner exchanges and visit market participants around the world. These are all part of the TWSE's effort in expanding it's international outreach and enhancing global visibility of the Taiwan market. We hope by bringing Taiwan to the world, we could also bring global opportunities back to Taiwan and foster the development of our capital market.
