1.       Market Overview

As of the end of April 2023, there were 978 companies listed on the TWSE with a total market value of NTD 48.91 trillion. Also, our market is notable for the high dividend yields (4.34%) and fairly reasonable P/B (1.90) and P/E (13.03) ratios. 2.       Primary Market

(1)   TWSE listing companies and capital issues

As of the end of April 2023, there were 978 companies listed on the TWSE, including 901 domestic companies and 77 foreign companies, with a total capital issued of NTD 7.53 trillion.

(2)   Total market capitalization

As of the end of April 2023, the total market capitalization of TWSE-listed stocks amounted to NTD 48.91 trillion. The market capitalization of the shareholdings of foreign investors was NTD 19.51 trillion, or 39.93% of the total market capitalization.

(3)   Total revenue of all listed companies

All listed companies reported NTD 2.76 trillion in total revenue in April 2023, 11.6% lower than in April 2022. The accumulated revenue of all listed companies from January to April was NTD 11.40 trillion, 11.81% lower compared to Year 2022.

3.       Secondary Market

(1)   TAIEX

TAIEX closed at 15,579.18 on April 28, 2023, down 288.88 from last month (March 31, 2023) 15,868.06, a decrease of approximately 1.82%.

(2)   Total trading value

As of the end of April 2023, the total trading value for year-to-date was NTD 15.94 trillion on the TWSE market and the average daily trading value was NTD 224.45 billion.

4.       Securities firms and investors

There were 64 securities brokerage firms with 802 branches.

As of the end of April 2023, the total number of stock accounts opened reached 21.82 million. The number of investors with trading activities was 2.49 million in April 2023, down 13% from March 2023.
