The TWSE to shorten the interval of simulated market information during the session for intraday odd-lot trading

Intraday odd-lot trading, commencing on October 26. 2020, facilitates odd-lot trading during regular trading hours and attracts more and more investors to invest in Taiwan.  Individual investors are thus enabled to buy high-priced stocks, such as TSMC, for just several thousands of New Taiwan dollars.  Intraday odd-lot trading has been the key to the expansion of retail participation in the Taiwan stock market.

 The Taiwan Stock Exchange has endeavored to streamline intraday odd-lot trading over the past few years.  To optimize transaction opportunities and efficiency, the TWSE reduced the auction interval for intraday odd-lot trading orders from three minutes to one minute starting from December 19, 2022.  To further enhance timely and accurate information disclosure for investors, the TWSE will shorten the interval of simulated market information during the session for intraday odd-lot trading from ten to five seconds starting from November 27, 2023.  Investors will be more informed to execute their intraday odd-lot trading orders.
