About the TWSE

Taiwan Stock Exchange released 2022 Sustainability Report, and continues to create a low-carbon emission environment

The TWSE has been publishing its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report since 2018, and renamed it as the Sustainability Report starting from 2021. This newly released report covers the main period from January, 2022, to December 31, 2022. To set an example to listed companies, though not obligated to do so, but the TWSE prepared the report in accordance with the latest 2021 version of GRI Standards, also conforming to SASB corresponding sector and the reporting framework by the TCFD. In addition, the TWSE adopted greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for all subsidiaries within the TWSE group. The results of Category 1 and Category 2, plus other material indicators have been assured by the certified public accountant (CPA) to enhance credibility.|

In this 2022 Sustainability Report, the TWSE put forth the spirit of “innovation, sustainability, and resilience.” It covers the governance, environmental, and social practices adopted and implemented by the TWSE in pursuit of sustainability. To fulfill our environmental responsibilities, the TWSE has expanded the category of GHG inventory report, implemented various energy-saving and carbon reduction measures, and established short- medium- and long-term carbon reduction targets for the first time; urges listed companies to conduct GHG assessment and preparing sustainability reports.

To effect social change, the TWSE invites peripheral organizations to respond to sustainable initiatives, and together support various social, charitable, and arts activities. On the governance side, the TWSE assesses international best practices; refines services in issuance, trading, and monitoring; designs innovative products along with indices; strengthens investor protection and education, plus promotes international communication and cooperation. Furthermore, the TWSE supports and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It actively contributes to 11 out of 17 SDGs, aiming to make a significant impact collectively.

This Report presents the performance of the TWSE and its three subsidiaries, including the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation (the TDCC), Taiwan Certificate Authority Corporation (the TWCA), and Taiwan Index Plus Corporation (TIP). The Report is published on the TWSE’s website (the Chinese version: https://www.twse.com.tw/CSR/zh/download.html; the English version: https://www.twse.com.tw/CSR/en/download.html)
