TWSE launches “ESG Ecology” section, showcasing progress across eight key ESG pillars
The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) officially launched a new “ESG Ecology” section on its sustainability website today (March 23), coinciding with World Meteorological Day. Centered on the theme “Power Up TW, Level Up ESG,” the section systematically presents the TWSE overall strategy and concrete achievements in promoting sustainability, demonstrating its strong commitment and proactive efforts to lead Taiwan’s capital market toward a more sustainable future.
The “ESG Ecology” section is featured under the “Sustainable News” category of the TWSE sustainability website. It highlights the TWSE’s eight key ESG pillars, including: enhancing ESG digital infrastructure, transforming the ESG Evaluation and green securities, adopting IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, strengthening investor relations, practicing the TWSE sustainable responsibility, cultivating ESG talent, developing ESG products, and promoting the sustainable carbon market.
Through this section, the TWSE outlines the core focus, implementation progress, and the future roadmap of its ESG initiatives. It enables companies to stay informed of policy directions and practical priorities, serving as a valuable reference for planning sustainability transformation and improving disclosure quality. Meanwhile, investors can gain deeper insights into ESG market trends, enhancing transparency and decision-making efficiency. This, in turn, promotes more efficient capital allocation and the advancement of sustainable value across the market. The section will be updated on a rolling basis to provide the latest policy developments and implementation outcomes, helping stakeholders stay abreast of evolving ESG trends.
In addition to fostering a collaborative ESG ecology, the TWSE is also actively advancing its own sustainability transition. Its office space in Taipei 101 has achieved 100% renewable energy usage and obtained ISO 14068-1 carbon neutrality verification, demonstrating tangible progress in carbon reduction efforts. The TWSE is also promoting the “Taiwan Nature-Based Carbon Sink Sustainability and Coexistence Action Plan,” which integrates carbon credit development, ecological surveys, community engagement, and local revitalization to establish nature-based carbon sink demonstration projects. These efforts support listed companies in implementing sustainable practices and strengthening environmental responsibility.
By establishing the “ESG Ecology” section, the TWSE aims to connect stakeholders, deepen sustainability practices, and amplify its overall impact. It also guides companies in accelerating their sustainability transformation, further enhancing the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s capital market and laying a solid foundation for the nation’s transition toward sustainability.
