Guiding the Sustainable Development of Taiwan’s Capital Market— TWSE’s 2025 Sustainability Report

The Taiwan Stock Exchange (the TWSE) has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting progress under two strategic pillars—“Building a Sustainable Market” and “Practicing Sustainable Responsibility.” The report covers six key areas: Market Stability, Financial Inclusion, International Cooperation, Green Operations, Integrity Governance, and Social Inclusion.

In 2025, all TWSE-listed companies completed their sustainability report filings as scheduled, marking a key milestone in Taiwan’s sustainable capital market development. In support of the Financial Supervisory Commission’s roadmap for aligning with the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, the TWSE continued to help listed companies strengthen their capabilities in identifying and managing sustainability-related risks and opportunities. The Corporate Governance Evaluation will also transition to an ESG Evaluation in 2026, providing investors with broader reference for assessing companies’ sustainability performance.

The TWSE also continued to strengthen its own sustainability practices. It maintained carbon neutrality certification in 2025 and advanced energy-efficiency upgrades and low-carbon operations. Together with the Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange (the TCX), the TWSE launched the “Taiwan Nature-Based Solutions & Sustainability Initiative” combining carbon credit development, ecological surveys and local revitalization to address climate change and biodiversity.

In response to the Financial Supervisory Commission’s “Giving Back to Society” program, the report introduces a dedicated section highlighting the TWSE’s financial feedback measures. It also enhances disclosure on human rights and occupational health and safety in line with GRI 403, underscoring the Exchange’s commitment to a fair, diverse, inclusive and safe workplace.
